The Origins and Recent Development of Civil Protection in the Czech Republic and Abroad

The diploma thesis " The Origins and Recent Development of Civil Protection in the Czech Republic and Abroad " is based on the theoretical part, which will be devoted to population protection. This concept represents the fulfillment of tasks in planning, organizing and carrying out prevention activities, ensuring emergency preparedness and crisis management, crisis situations and their solutions. These activities are closely related to the performing tasks related to the protection of life, health, property and the environment in events of emergencies and crisis situations of non-military and military character. The introduction will introduce the basic concepts that will be linked throught the text. The main essence of the theoretical part is the history and the recent of civil protection and the protection of the population in the world, the European Union, selected countries: Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Poland and in the Czech Republic. A large part of the theoretical work according to significant time periods in this area of civil protection in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis contains a practical part. It is developed on the basis of a system of questionnaires. They are ivided by age categories. Here is analyzed the evaluation of the population in terms of protection of the population, their own security comparison with the past in the field of civil protection in the Czech Republic, in the European Union and in the world. The aim of the work is to divide into selected stages of civil defense from beginning in the Czech Republic and in the other countries. What were the reasons for the emergence of civil defense and protection and in legal norms or international conventions were historically stated. General awareness of the issue of protection of population according to a questionnaire survey. This work can be used for study purposes in the field of population protection or to compare the modern concept of security of population protection and comparison with history. The protection of the population has been and will continue to be at the forefront of the state's interest in the distant future. In this situation, this diploma thesis would be used for further study of the author in the field of doctoral studies in this area.

Knowledge analysis of students primary school, high school and university in the field of protection human on behalf of emergency in Capital City Prague

11 Abstract Name of the essay: Knowledge analysis of students primary school, high school and university in the field of protection human on behalf of emergency in capital city Prague Aim of the essay: The main objective of this work is to point out the topic of civil protection, determine the way of education and knowledge of students at Prague schools. Another component of this essay describes the history and present condition of civil protection in our region, legislation and the meaning of civil protection for our country. Method: For getting data in this empirical study the method of inquiry was used. The inquiry contains of three parts: identification, research and complement. The individual study was made on chosen Prague schools and universities. Results: Frequency and statistical significance of answers were made from received data. The results showed that students have some knowledge in traffic education and first aid. But there is still lot of things that students should learn, mostly in civil protection. Protection of the population and measures against weapons of mass destruction in former Czechoslovakia from 1950's until the 1970's

Presented diploma thesis is pursued to the topic of conceptual evolution of civil protection in the last century's 50's to 70's period. This period of time, population safety was secured by so called Civil Defence. Noticeable atribute of all the Civil Defence measures impacting population was mainly protection against mass destruction weapons. That is why protection against mass destruction weapons is given the most attention in this diploma thesis. Target of the thesis is historical analyse concerning Civil Defence and its evolution in Czechoslovakia in noted period. Out of it the thesis sketches also general formation and evolution of civil protection in previous period. Diploma thesis is done based on study of available literature and mainly based on accessible sources from military archive in Prague. Thesis is divided to six chapters, chronologically describing the most important milestones in Civil Defence conceptual evolution. Emphasis is laid on description of its organisational structure and way of population protection against mass destruction weapons. During studies of these sources, the emphasis was laid also on military evaluation of country territory according to level of expected threat by aerial attack that time, or later by nuclear weapon of mass destruction in case of war conflict....
